About
the Farmers
In 2020 the two families, sharing the same vision, came together to form Homegrown Meat Company. They are focused on providing the best quality beef. While also partnering with other family farms to offer a wider variety of farm fresh products. Homegrown Meat Company is a way to connect the consumer with the farmers that surround them.
In 1843 the Wheeler family set down roots in Kendall County and six generations later they are still farming the same land. David and his wife Becky, along with their six children, continue to carry on the tradition of a true family farm. When David and his wife decided to raise cattle, their focus was to provide quality beef directly to the consumer.
Andy and Jessica Covert started a first-generation farm in Newark, IL and run it with the help of their 2 sons. On the farm they grow corn, soybeans and hay. They started and have grown a cow-calf herd. The calves are all raised and fed with the crops they grow on the farm. The beef they raise is sold directly to the consumer as high-quality freezer beef.
